About & Contact

Hi! I’m Kate. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Writing from John Carroll University and a Master of Arts in Education in the field of Literacy Intervention from Baldwin Wallace University.

I am a former Title I Reading Specialist, Small Group Instructor and Public School Teacher. I wanted the freedom to teach differently and allow my student needs and individual learning style guide my instruction. Focused, attuned and tailored attention to an individual child’s learning needs can make all the difference in the world.

As a classroom teacher, no matter how hard I tried to differentiate my instruction, tailor lessons so that some kids wouldn’t get bored and some wouldn’t be left confused, it was never enough to truly meet them at eye level and give them a full hour of my time and attention, with forethought and consideration given to who they are and how they learn.

I’ve worked with all grade levels in the areas of writing and have extensive knowledge of the various gradations of language acquisition and writing that each learner should be able to perform, based on their grade level. I have a limited number of spots available during the academic year. Please contact me via phone or email directly to find out what is available.
